A publisher can, through content directed towards a niche audience, gather views on a webpage and then promote affiliate links on it in exchange for a commission.
Note: Even though the payout is in euros, the program is open to the United States and your commission will be converted based on currency rates at the time of the payment.
.
Once you’ve started to establish yourself as a thought leader and trust-worthy source in your niche, people will turn to you for tips and recommendations.
It's also critical to note -- most people tend to prefer buying Target products in-person, rather than online, so this could have an impact on your returns.
For example, last year I created a tutorial video for creating a new YouTube channel:
True Classics is an e-commerce store selling t-shirts and other apparel. They offer their affiliates a 15% commission on every order.
There is nothing worse than promoting a product that someone tells you later is crap. This will ruin all the trust that you are trying to build for your future audience to eventually purchase your products and/or services.
If you want to check if a company has an affiliate program or not, search Google for the company name and “affiliates” or “affiliate program”. You may be surprised to see how many online stores run affiliate programs. Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Chewie – they all have them.
Affiliate links track what traffic comes specifically from your site versus other sources. This is how they know when a sale should give you a commission. The rates can vary massively from as low as 1% to sometimes as high as 80% for high end subscription setups or ecourses on Clickbank. Sometimes you can even earn bonuses depending on your niches.
So what exactly is affiliate marketing? Pat Pat Flynn, the founder of Smart Passive Income (SPI), offers the following definition, and we think it’s spot-on:
As an affiliate, you aim to collaborate with notable brands and promote reliable, top–quality products. According to Buildapreneur, “The best affiliate programs for beginners (or for anybody for that matter) are the ones that offer a wide range of product price points. They have products that range from a couple of bucks to expensive products that are hundreds or even thousands of dollars.” High-paying, low-volume affiliate programs – affiliate programs for niche products with high payouts. For example, ConvertKit‘s affiliate program pays almost $700 per month if you send just 80 customers their way. However, as they sell CRM software for small business owners, there‘s a limited pool of buyers. Low-paying, high-volume affiliate programs – programs for products with low payouts but mass appeal. “For example, take PS4 games. Many people play PS4, but the average cost of a game is only around $50, and affiliate commissions are usually in the single digits. This means you‘ll earn $2–3 per sale if you‘re lucky.“ The good thing about these types of programs is that they offer many products to sell. Amazon‘s affiliate program, for example – where you can make up to 10% commissions on almost anything Amazon sells. “The other good thing is that you often get commissions on the entire value of the purchase rather than just the product you recommended. To make these types of affiliate programs pay, you‘ll need lots of traffic.” High-paying, high-volume affiliate programs – programs that include products with mass appeal and high commissions. For example, credit cards. This type of program will usually attract affiliates with more experience in the field and is not as well suited for beginners.

In the next section, I’ll be enumerating the struggles I’ve faced as an affiliate. This is not to scare you but it’s for you to see both sides of the coin!
It is for this reason that most people think making money online is synonymous with scamming people out of their hard-earned cash. Admit it; you have probably thought the same thing once or twice too. No one can blame you.
You are allowed to create multiple affiliate campaigns for different blogs or websites, and landing pages to increase the promotion of your affiliate links in order to optimize the successful ones and abandon the doomed ones.
