On average, companies either manage their affiliate programs in-house or they partner with an affiliate management agency (sometimes referred to as an OPM) to manage the day-to-day needs requirements of an effectively run program. There are also brands, particularly enterprise brands, who take a “hybrid” approach to the management of their program where they oversee elements of it in-house and partner with an agency to manage the day-to-day aspects. Companies that have intentionally decided to run a small, private affiliate marketing program with only a few select partners. An in-house manager can generally manage this type of affiliate program without much difficulty. Companies that are not looking to grow their program. Partnering with an affiliate agency is an investment; if a company is not investing in their program, the spend may not be worthwhile. Companies (typically on a growth path and who have $8M+ in online sales) who lack the in-house resources, operational and industry expertise, platforms and affiliate partnerships to manage their affiliate program effectively. Enterprise brands who need a substantial team to run their program. Brands who want to use an agency for particular purposes or to strategically expand their geographic footprint.
Only when I stuck to one or two good products and did lots of split testing with my pages and advertising did I start to get some sales.

I’ll cover some more specific advice for affiliate marketers later in this post, but one of the immediate questions you probably have is, compared to blogs, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, et. al., Instagram does not allow you to place a link every time you post an image. So how can affiliate marketers on Instagram get people to enter a link with their affiliate code into their browser and buy product? There are actually a few ways, once you get creative and think outside of the box, and here are the steps to follow:
Even as I’ve shifted my focus away from running my blog, the website still sees traffic daily. That means even when I’m not directly working on the blog, I can still earn money from affiliate sales.
Instead, Michelle recommends that you give your Pinterest audience something more valuable, for example, a “complimentary course, a members-only community, or a 20-minute masterclass.”
Of course, you have to be comfortable in front of the camera but it’s a great way to make conversions. If you use Instagram or TikTok you’ve probably already come across affiliate posts. These are the posts that are marked with #ad or something similar.
PPC is a pricing scheme that’s common in the world of digital marketing. In simple terms, PPC offers only require affiliates to generate clicks and send traffic to the advertiser’s offer page.
Hopeful affiliates may want to try paid advertising if they’re hoping to speed up their influence. While organic content is always better — because you’re building up an audience based purely on your words and talent alone — it will take longer to do. Facebook and Google ads can be expensive, but they’re typically the fastest way to get a new venture off the ground.
This is a simple yet underrated promotion strategy that most affiliate marketers still don’t use.
Let’s look at an example. Say I sign up for and get accepted into the Pit Boss Affiliate Program. I go to the Pit Boss affiliate portal and they give me unique links (for grills, pellets, etc) that I can use on my blog. I post a recipe using my Pit Boss on my blog and include an affiliate link to the grill I used in various places on my post. Thank link goes to the product page of the grill I used. Someone reads my blog post and decides they want the same grill I have so they click my affiliate link and it takes them to that grill on the Pit Boss site. They purchase that grill. I get a commission on that sale because I assisted in that sale. I have a full time job that I’m not ready to leave. So I use affiliate marketing as a supplement to my income. It’s my side hustle. Sometimes it’ll take care of my gas money for the month and sometimes it’ll take care of the mortgage and my car note too. I’m not at the point where I’m making six (or even five) figures yet. But a LOT of people use affiliate marketing as their full time job and sole source of income and I believe it. Maybe one day I’ll be at that point but until then, it’ll remain a fun side hustle.
A well-designed website is crucial to increasing website traffic. But the design must go hand in hand with thoughtfully created content. The content is what draws your visitors in and converts them into potential leads. So it would help if you aimed to supply users with engaging, helpful and relevant content. That’s what will differentiate between visitors staying on your site and taking the desired actions (converting) or leaving without doing anything.
Thank you for sharing these tips. It can help me get through my affiliate marketing business. Been running the sites for months but really nothing I get. Hope what I’ve understood by your post could help me.
