Keyword research is one of the most important tools when it comes to affiliate marketing done correctly. Why? Proper keyword research using a tool like Long Tail Pro will not only draw people into your content, making it more likely to generate commissions from your links, but it can also help you find the best products to promote.
Before I got into this form of marketing, I needed to find out what it’s all about. Affiliate marketing is promoting a product or service with the idea of giving commissions to those involved. I found this type of marketing worked well because it has more personal qualities.

The type of payment or commission program that your affiliate program is going to use should be solidified before you begin any type of outreach. You can always change your strategy, but it is best to keep this as consistent as possible to prevent any confusion with affiliates.
When are you going to start affiliate marketing? Will you start as a merchant or an affiliate? Which methods of promotion are you going to use?
If one affiliate program doesn’t really work in your favor, try a new program. Maybe, the new affiliate program offers better products or this is what your audience is looking for. It’s not really plain to read your audience minds and find out what products they typically buy. So, trying different programs can help to increase your affiliate income. Or, maybe find a relevant program that has a better payout, creative promotional ideas, discounts, coupons etc.
I’ve found a 3 email series usually works well for this, but don’t start going this direction until you’ve had some experience with either email marketing or the other affiliate strategies we’ve talked about.
