As Lizard puts it, “The fact that I could earn a little money from the promotion is just a nice bonus.”
Sometimes they won't go farther than that. Some may not even explain how or why or even what affiliate marketing is.
.
As you become a seasoned affiliate marketer it becomes easier to find them within the affiliate networks.
I wrote this complete guide to making money with affiliate marketing because it’s something I love doing and many of my fellow YouTubers continually asked for advice in masterminds. They wanted to know how I earned more in affiliate income than advertising most months during my income reports. Like me, they were inspired by people like Michelle who were making tens of thousands of dollars every month while only working 10 hours a week and traveling the world. They wanted to know how I got started and how I make money with affiliate marketing so this post is my answer.
Even if you don’t convert sales immediately, continue with your regular posting. Be consistent in engaging with your audience as well.
You definitely need to match the affiliate programs you select with the content and theme of your website. This is because you want to offer advertisements that will prove appealing to those that visit the site. For example, if you have a sports blog you will want sports and “guy related” affiliate banners. Incongruities between the ads and the content will sink the whole venture.
There are many types of affiliate marketing programs but the most common one is pay per sale. That is what I will be referring to and giving tips to since it is what I use the most.
Customers are always looking for the best deal. That is why the internet is filled with coupon websites, ready to show you how to save money in most chains.
You may be reading this and thinking that even though affiliate marketing seems like a good idea, in theory, you have no idea how to actually do it.
Of course, you have to be comfortable in front of the camera but it’s a great way to make conversions. If you use Instagram or TikTok you’ve probably already come across affiliate posts. These are the posts that are marked with #ad or something similar.
Even after you write it, it will gain more and more traction in Google allowing more people to find it and possibly purchase a product from your affiliate link.
This step fits in if you're planning to build your affiliate website from scratch. Here are a few SEO considerations you might want to take into account.
Start Guest Blogging: Since you can't invest in link-building and advertising, guest blogging is your best chance to get high-authority backlinks to your site. It's one of the best content marketing strategies that will continue to pay back even years after your posts are published. Make sure you publish guest articles on relevant high-authority blogs that are aligned with your target niche. Include at least one or two backlinks in your guest posts to your ToFu content and lead magnet. This is how you'll gradually build your audience, add them to your content funnel, and eventually turn them into customers.
So, just like with blogging, you’ll need to create targeted, high-quality content that provides value to your audience. The only differences are that you’ll create video content instead of blog posts – and that you’ll use the video description space to promote your affiliate links. Target high-volume search keywordsBe optimized for the YouTube search engine (such as adding tags and a keyword-rich description) Offer real value to your target audience Talk about the affiliate products and services that you’re promoting during your video, and make sure to mention that the link is available in the video description (you need people to actually click on that link in order to make your sales commissions) Add your affiliate link/s in the video description, while also including a quick explanation of what they get by clicking on each link (as well as any special offers, if applicable)
Google gives a lot of value to brand mentions on third party sites. If a product/brand keeps getting mentioned on different sites, it contributes positively to its search position.
So, if you’ve bought into the potential of Instagram affiliate marketing, here are some things to keep in mind as you slowly begin to publish more content promoting your affiliate relationships.
