This is the whole journey of commencing as a merchant. Now, it’s time to pay some attention to becoming an affiliate marketer.
In the U.S., the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires that you let people know whenever you earn a commission.

One thing you should understand right now is that you must pay to have a decent blog. It's not a huge amount of money, but then again, it still is money that you have to pay. There is no way around this. A good blog will attract a fee of at least $40.00 each year, and that's only for hosting. It could be more, but definitely not less than this.
Working the hardest used to be the golden standard to go by. Who puts in the most hours? Who stays latest at the office and comes in earliest and really shows that dedication? That’s still a sign of dedication, but now, everyone is all about finding the easiest ways possible to make “passive income.” People want to actively make a profit while doing very little work for it.

Next, you need to create a website. Many internet guides will suggest ways and tips to promote your affiliate link. However, the most secure, effective, and efficient way by far to promote an affiliate link is through your website.
Affiliate Marketing takes time and effort initially, but once you get it right, it’s one of the best ways to make passive income from your website or blog.
You need to be the first person your audience thinks of when it needs advice before buying a product.
Affiliate marketing is a way to make money online by promoting other people’s or company’s products and services and earning a commission from every sale you help make (to be fair though, there are different types of affiliate programs with different ways of paying marketers, as you’ll see in a minute).
Grab the 8 key ‘money blocks’ that prevent you from earning more money. Now’s the time to learn how to overcome these money blocks, crush your limiting beliefs, charge what you’re worth, and earn more without working harder!
In the previous chapter (#8), I’ve told you how to do keyword research and optimize your article or review for Google. However, that’s only half of the job when we talk about SEO.
Google Trends is a great tool to start because you can see the popularity of your niche over time. If it peaked a few years ago and plummeted, that’s a red flag.
Imagine losing all of your audience just because Google decides to change their algorithms, again. 😨
So, if you display Amazon products in a sidebar widget, product showcase table, or a comparison table using AzonPress-generated Affiliate links, you won’t have to manually update them ever again. The plugin will fetch data from Amazon automatically and if a piece of product information is updated on Amazon, that will be updated on your site as well.
This final point may seem like an obvious one, but it is still worth saying that you must choose to work with trustworthy retailers when setting up your affiliate marketing strategy. If you convert visitors to buy products from a retailer that ends up being a scammer, the customer isn’t the only one who is going to be negatively affected.
Even if you opt for an affiliate marketing network, it does not mean you cannot find additional qualified affiliates on your own. It is all about building relationships. Affiliates will only want to promote the products and services of brands they trust. After all, they are putting their name and reputation on the line. Do they already have a platform, such as a blog or a website, with quality content? Are they authentic when communicating with their audience online? Have they mastered the art of show and not tell, meaning they are great storytellers that will draw customers in and persuade them to buy? How much traffic does their blog or website generate? The more traffic, the higher the potential for sales. Is their online presence professional, and does it align with your brand position? Do they have a large or engaged social media following? Is the affiliate ranking high for search terms related to your products or services?
(At the end of this post, we present specific affiliate ideas, so keep on reading.)
